Our Mission:
Emerald Glen Homes is a not-for-profit organization providing quality
homes and support to the developmentally
disabled adult population of Alameda County and Hayward.
Developmentally disabled people have
dreams, hopes, and aspirations just like you.
They want meaningful relationships, a decent
home, the opportunity to take pride in work, and to be treated with
dignity and respect.
It takes so little to do so much.

HomeAid of Northern
California Partners with Emerald Glen Homes
HomeAid of Northern California, the charitable
arm of the National Builder's Association, has partnered with
Emerald Glen Homes in the site development and construction of five
six-bedroom homes. The sponsorship is estimated in value
between $1.6 and $2 Million Dollars!
Supporting HomeAid's efforts is a large
team of "builder captains," who have each "adopted" a home, oversee
the project, and encourage in-kind donations of materials and
services from industry suppliers. Builder captains include
Pulte, Meritage, William Lyon and Ponderosa Homes.
Representing these major homebuilders are top executives in
their field, who offer the kind of advanced expertise a small
project such as Emerald Glen could never secure in the open
marketplace.
Typically, HomeAid is able to secure
materials donations of at least 50 percent of the cost of the
project, with a success rate that often climbs even higher.
Nationally, HomeAid is supported by 22
Chapters across the United States. To date HomeAid's
contributions have included over $40 Million of in-kind contributions
and has changed the lives of more than 20,000 individuals.
While typically HomeAid's focus has been on shelter development for
the temporarily homeless, HomeAid was quick to step up to the plate
to help us improve the lives of developmentally Disabled adults in
Alameda County.
The work of HomeAid is truly remarkable.
There are few ways more powerful to change someone's life than to
give the gift of a decent home. The support from HomeAid has
made Emerald Glen possible.
