Our Mission:
Emerald Glen is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing quality homes and special support to the adult and aging developmentally disabled population of Alameda County and Hayward. 

We're providing brand-new residences, architecturally designed with special amenities that allow for normal daily living.
 
 

 

 
Fundraising is ongoing and a central component toward providing the enhanced level of services integral to Emerald Glen's mission.  As a not-for-profit organization, Emerald Glen won't be solely reliant upon State payments to support its operations. 
 Many of the adult children of the founding Board of Directors will also reside at Emerald Glen, so you can be assured we're building a supportive home environment based on love and attention to individual resident needs.
 Developmentally disabled people have hopes, dreams and aspirations just like you.  They want meaningful relationships, a comfortable, decent home, the opportunity to take pride in work, and to be treated with dignity and respect.  Living life with a developmental disability can be frustrating.  Most of us take for granted our ability to perform daily tasks and make routine decisions.

Developmental disabilities substantially impair these simple aspects of life.  Through special training and support, people with developmental disabilities can thrive!
